When our team received a call from The Boys and Girls Club of Waco pertaining to an opportunity to help better the community, we happily agreed to facilitate! The major sponsor, Buffalo Wild Wings, donated funds to the "Team Up For Kids" Program to cover the construction of a new outdoor basketball court.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM!

The "Team Up For Kids" program fosters the idea that participation in team sports has a deep impact on youth throughout the community. This program promotes children developing a positive self-image, encourages healthy, active lifestyles, and supports building strong character. Kids and teens alike experience the joy of belonging to a team while learning sportsmanship, teamwork, and valuable social skills.

WHERE DO WE COME IN?

Waco Fence played a major role in this valuable addition to the Waco area by building the fence and gates for the perimeter of the basketball court. This project consisted of a 10 foot tall black vinyl chain link perimeter, complete with gates for secure access. Waco Fence not only worked closely with the management team of the Boys and Girls Club to meet target completion dates and customer requirements, but was also able to donate a portion of this project to the program as well. This project was very close to our hearts as many of our employees have children involved in sports. It was beyond rewarding to be a part of this endeavor, and despite facing a few obstacles along the way, we were able to complete the project on time and within budget. The Central Texas weather wasn’t always on our side, but we fought it all the way and were very proud of the beautiful project we were able to provide.

RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY

The Boys and Girls Club of Waco outdoor basketball court project culminated with a ribbon cutting ceremony, which took place on February 5, 2019. We were privileged to be a part of this ceremony and were excited to see the finished project! A few of the many children who call the Boys and Girls Club of Waco a second home were there for the ceremony and were so excited to get their feet on that new court!
